Joanna and Ted

At a friend’s birthday party, Joanna was asked, “What kind of guys are you into?” She locked eyes with Ted from across the room and she replied, “that guy over there.” Joanna and Ted got married in Mendocino where the beach meets the forest.

The couple wanted the wedding to evoke the feeling of having friends and family over fordinner at their “home on the cliff.” Formal, but not fussy. Their wedding was inspired by the location and it was important for them to have their closest friends and family together for one weekend and in one location.

Joanna wore a Rebecca Schoneveld gown, Sezane shoes, a custom veil and her signature scent Annabels’ Birthday Cake by Marissa Zappas.Ted wore a brown tweed Oliver Wicks suit with multicolored flecks in the fabric.

Joanna is a ceramicist and for several weeks leading up to the big day she threw all 20+vases that they used and then let the guests take them home at the end of the weekend as a party favor. She also hand dyed the linen napkins a light blue and embroidered them with personalized designs using bright red thread.
