Nikhila & Bhas

Suncadia Resort | Cle Elum, WA

Nikhila and Bhas celebrated a multi-day wedding at Suncadia Resort in Washington, bringing together friends and family for a weekend filled with tradition, playful celebrations, and unforgettable moments. The couple first met years earlier at a dance camp, and their friendship eventually developed into a long-distance relationship during COVID. Their wedding weekend felt like a joyful culmination of that story—and a celebration of the people who had supported them along the way.

The weekend began with an Italian-inspired welcome party, followed by a lively late-night celebration that eventually ended with photographs taken on top of the bar. The next day brought a full sports day with friends and family, creating plenty of opportunities for candid, energetic moments before the festivities continued that evening with their sangeet.

The sangeet was one of the most joyful parts of the weekend, with friends and family performing elaborate, individually choreographed dance routines created specifically for Nikhila and Bhas. The immense happiness and excitement of everyone involved became a central part of their wedding film.

The celebration culminated in a traditional Hindu wedding ceremony surrounded by the forests and natural beauty of Suncadia Resort. The peaceful setting provided a beautiful contrast to the energy of the weekend, creating an intimate and meaningful backdrop for the couple’s ceremony and traditions.

Their wedding film combines nostalgic Super 8 with digital cinematography, allowing the visual style to move naturally between candid documentary moments and more cinematic portraits of the weekend. Super 8 captures the spontaneity, movement, and personality of the celebrations, while digital footage adds clarity and a more polished perspective to the ceremony and formal moments.

At the heart of the film are Nikhila and Bhas’ parents, who become some of its most important storytellers. Their reflections on how the couple met, fell in love, and ultimately found their way to one another give the film an emotional throughline. Rather than simply documenting a wedding weekend, the film tells the story of two people, their families, and the community that surrounded them as they celebrated the beginning of their marriage.
